FAQ

To measure your child for a suit, take note of the following:

Sleeve length: Measure the length of your child’s arm from the top of the shoulder to the outer edge of the wrist.

Chest size: Wrap the measuring tape securely around your child’s chest, underneath the armpits.

Jacket length: Measure the length between the nape of the neck and a few inches below the hips. For a kids suit jacket with tails, measure from the nape of the neck to the knees.

Waist size: Wrap the measuring tape around the child’s natural waistline; slightly above the navel.

Inner leg: Placing the measuring tape at the top of the inner thigh, measure the length of the leg down to the ankle.

Outer leg: Placing the measuring tape at the waist (just above the navel), measure the length of the leg down to the ankle.

If you’re still unsure about taking your child’s measurements, you can contact us to arrange a video call or a personalised fitting service, and we’ll ensure you purchase a perfectly fitted kids suit.

The general guidelines for formal attire can be applied to childrenswear. Whenever possible, refer to a dress code. Most restaurants, theatres, galleries, and formal venues will include dress code information on their website. When in doubt, reserve your children’s suits for evening events and special occasions, such as milestone parties, galas, and weddings.

The age you buy your child’s first suit is largely dependent on your child’s tolerance and preference when it comes to what they want to wear. Godwin Charli recommends waiting until your child is 3 years old to purchase their first suit. At this age, they will have a greater sense of independence and freedom of expression when it comes to choosing their own style. Our range of kids suits are made from luxe fabrics for ultimate comfort and durability.

Godwin Charli believes that fashion transcends gender norms and social constraints. If your little girl is more comfortable in a suit, we have a selection of girls suit and jacket/pant designs available in a range of fabrics, textures and colours.

For formal occasions, a suit is a must-have. While your child’s body is changing and growing fast, high-quality suits for kids are constructed with longevity in mind. Godwin Charli’s range of girls and boys formal wear is made from premium materials (with added spandex for comfort and stretch), and our personalised fitting service ensures that the sleeves and pant legs can be let out as your child grows.
